When I was a kid the mere mention of the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame inspired images of the greats that once played the game.  It conjured up visions of an exclusive club. A shrine, whose rare members appeared larger than life, and were the elite amongst their peers. It was to forever be a touchstone for us to honor men that were so synonymous with greatness on the diamond.
