The Chicago Cubs took on the Cincinnati Reds today, looking to win their third straight game, and sweep the Reds in Cincy for the first in 12 years. That, however, did not happen, as the Reds walked away with a 6-0 victory in Wednesday's afternoon matchup. Mike Leake gets the win for the Reds, as Cincinnati moves to 83-64 on the year. Jeff Samardzija takes the loss for Chicago, who fall to 62-83 and are most certainly out of the playoff hunt.
